HERQ Treasure Hunt Is Coming – A New Global Virtual Treasure Hunt with Real Rewards

HERQ is developing a new feature that will turn the world map into an interactive global adventure. Scheduled to launch before the end of the year, HERQ Treasure Hunt will invite players from around the world to search for a hidden HERQ Hero and compete for real rewards.

Unlike a traditional treasure hunt, there is no need to travel to a physical location. The entire virtual treasure hunt takes place inside the HERQ Lost & Found app, giving players the opportunity to join the search wherever they are in the world.

One Hero. One World. One Winner.

Each HERQ Treasure Hunt will begin with a simple announcement: a HERQ Hero has gone missing somewhere on the interactive world map.

Players will explore the map, follow daily clues and carefully zoom into possible locations. The Hero will remain hidden during normal map browsing and will only appear when a player gets close enough to the correct location.

Depending on the difficulty of the challenge, players may need to explore an area from around 200 metres away – or zoom in to just a few metres before the hidden Hero becomes visible.

Every day brings a new clue

If the Hero remains hidden, new clues will gradually narrow the search. A clue might reveal a continent, country, region, city, landmark or another detail that helps players decide where to search next.

The longer the hunt continues, the more information players receive – and the race to find the Hero becomes more intense.

Find the Hero. Claim the reward.

There will be one goal: become the first player to discover the hidden HERQ Hero.

The first verified player to find the Hero will win the reward announced for that particular hunt. Rewards may include products, experiences, gift cards, special partner rewards and other prizes.

Each Treasure Hunt can therefore bring a completely different challenge and a completely different reward.

A new HERQ Hero every month

Our vision is to create recurring HERQ Treasure Hunts featuring different Heroes, locations, difficulty levels, clues and rewards.

One month you might be searching for the Green HERQ Hero. Another hunt could feature the Yellow, Purple or even a special edition Hero.

But one rule will remain the same: somewhere on the map, a HERQ Hero is waiting to be found.

More than just a game

HERQ Treasure Hunt combines exploration, curiosity, competition and community. Players will discover new places around the world while experiencing maps in a completely different way.

It also brings a playful new dimension to the original HERQ idea: helping people find what has been lost.

This time, however, the missing item is our Hero.

Launching before December

The HERQ team is currently developing and testing the first version of the Treasure Hunt system, with the first public hunt planned before December.

Brands can become part of the hunt too

We are also opening the first HERQ Treasure Hunts to selected brands and companies interested in becoming founding partners of the new global challenge.

Instead of traditional advertising, a partner can become part of the actual Treasure Hunt by providing a prize, creating a special reward or collaborating with HERQ on a unique edition of the challenge.

A travel partner could send the winner on a new adventure. A technology company could provide the latest device. A fashion or lifestyle brand could offer one of its products. A hotel could create a special stay. The possibilities are deliberately open.
